東芝、Blu-rayドライブ搭載ノートPCは発売せず

次世代DVD規格競争に敗れた東芝ですが、Blu-rayドライブを搭載するノートPCはリリースしないようです。

After Toshiba's withdrawal from the HD battle grounds earlier this year, many didn't knoew what was going to happen. In an interview with TechRadar.com Europe, a CEO at Toshiba Alan Thompson says the company isn't looking to add Blu-ray capabilities to its laptops.


「HDコンテンツにアクセスする方法はBlu-rayだけではない」
「SD映像をHD映像にアップスケールする機能がある」

などと述べられているようですが、映画のネット配信が進まないと、なかなかBlu-rayの牙城は崩せなさそうですね。
データ保存としてのBlu-rayは価格面からあまりメリットと魅力を感じませんが。
